Meet our founder Francisca Bruinsma
The story behind Francis
In 2018, Francis started in the smallest way possible: from my bedroom.
What began as small student project selling jewelry and clothing quickly became something much bigger. I packed every order myself in my room, answered customer messages late at night and spent all my free time building the brand through Instagram and social media.
At the beginning, Francis was a mix of jewelry, fashion pieces and products I personally loved and missed online. There was no office, no team and no big plan just the dream of creating a brand that felt different from everything else. More personal, more stylish and more connected to a community of girls who loved fashion as much as I did.
As the brand grew, so did the vision behind it.
Over the years, I discovered that bags became the heart of Francis. The goal became creating timeless statement bags with a luxury feel, high quality materials and an accessible price point.
What started in one bedroom has now grown into an international brand shipping to customers in more than 50 countries worldwide. Today, Francis is known for its signature bags, growing community and collections designed to by your daily companion.
Even though the company has grown far beyond what I imagined in 2018, the vision behind Francis is still the same: creating pieces people genuinely love, building a strong community around the brand and proving that something started from a small bedroom can grow into something global.
